This course is designed for Adults have limited spoken knowledge of the English language. Once you have completed this course, you will be able to:
Phonic Skills — You will learn the spoken sounds of the letters. A good command of phonics will help you read, speak and think clearly in English.
Oral & Comprehension Skills — An education in listening and speaking is critical. You will be taught to be an active listener and clear speaker.
Reading & Writing Skills — As the phonetic elements of language are acquired, you will learn how to break down the separate parts of a word for reading and how to build a word for spelling. Literacy is further enhanced as students begin to focus on vocabulary development and organized writing.
Grammar Skills — Grammar will play an important element in every lesson. You will learn about tenses, the parts of speech, capitalization, punctuation, and sentence structures.
Thinking Skills — Students are taught to think for themselves in English. You will be encouraged to confidently voice your opinion and initiate communication.
Confidence & Self Esteem — Instructors focus on difficulties in comprehension. As the your self-confidence increases it carries over into everything you do, not just the study of English.
